Sigourney Weaver is officially back as Ellen Ripley and Blomkamp hints that the movie will leap over Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. Makes sense, Ripley dies in Alien 3 and is brought back to life as a clone in the fourth movie.
“I want this film to feel like it is literally the genetic sibling of ‘Alien,’” says Neill Blomkamp. “So it’s ‘Alien,’ ‘Aliens’ and then this movie.”
