The Londoner James Mathé, better known as Barbarossa announced his new album ‘Imager’ will be out on May 12th. Barbarossa the talented musician has worked with the likes of Johnny Flynn, José Gonzáles and Junip. He’s also toured with POLICA, Low, and Junip. Working with these talented artists has allowed him to play around with his sound. He started off folk-tinged balladry, dabbled with electronic, and honed in on the electronic soul genre.
On ‘Imager’ Barbarossa is working with electronic sounds that blend with his organic lyrics, in order to create a unique and poignant final product. With this album Barbarossa hopes to be seen as an artist to be reckoned with. He hopes that his fans connect with his album that deal with displacement and heartbreak.
The title track of his album was released and you can listen to it here and download it here. As well as releasing a track, Barbarossa also announced two new Europe shows and will be announcing more tour dates soon.
