Slowdive’s 1995 attempt at keeping up with newer musical techniques called Pygmalion led them to being dropped by the record label a week later. Commence various solo projects by the band members and whatnot, but none of them were really involved in anything as big as Slowdive was. They announced a reunion tour in 2014, which sold out, and was probably the reason why the concept for a new album ever came into existence.
