Esteemed producer Danger Mouse (aka Brian Burton) and James Mercer have once again teamed up to make music under the moniker “Broken Bells”. They have just released a new single “It’s That Talk Again” (which can be listened to below via YouTube) as a follow-up to their 2014 album “After the Disco” via Columbia Records.

James Mercer’s falsetto vocals are absolutely stellar and celestial. They usher in a sense of icy coolness that slowly drifts over your skin and envelopes you in the nicest way possible while Danger Mouse’s bass-y funky backing production provides a nice futuristic night time kind of overtone. Stereogum further describes “It’s That Talk Again” saying:

James Mercer of the Shins and prolific producer Danger Mouse (aka Brian Joseph Burton) first collaborated as Broken Bells in 2010 and, five years later, they’re still doing it. They followed up their self-titled debut with After The Disco in 2014, and today’s song “It’s That Talk Again” is the first thing we’ve heard since then. It comes via Pitchfork in advance of their concert film Broken Bells: Live At The Orpheum, which is out this coming Saturday. “It’s That Talk Again” doubles down on Mercer’s ethereal vocals and Burton’s skeletal funk production.

This is definitely a good track to add to your night time play list when you either want to relax on a night in or are gearing up to go have some fun.
