People, rejoice! The Boss (aka Bruce Springsteen) has just released an unearthed a fiery passionate B-side single “Meet Me in the City” (which can be listened to below via YouTube) which will be on his upcoming box set titled “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection” which will contain 4 CD’s and 3 DVD’s and be out December 4th via Columbia Records.

“Meet Me in the City” has everything you need from a Bruce Springsteen song: driving rhythms, emotional powerhouse singing, punchy guitars, pianos that tear it up, and saxophone solos that absolutely kill it with passion. It definitely sounds like the band is giving it everything they’ve got and are having one hell of a good time. Noisey goes into further detail, saying:

This unreleased 1979 song is Bruce in full form: chrome-lined, fuel-injeccted, and about to skid off on a motorcycle into the freaking sunset.

If this post alone is making you well up, just wait for The Ties That Bind: The River Colletion, a four-CD/three-DVD box set out later this year. So stop talking about 1989 already and get real because it’s obviously all about 1979.

Quite frankly, I’m surprised this song was never released as an A-side. It definitely kicks enough ass to have been one.
