It is the most underrated and overlooked album in Sufjan’s discography, containing in capsule form what he would later unpack into more palatable music.
First released in 2001 on CD, 2014—the Year of the Horse—brings the original recording back as a double-LP set, the first disc clear and the other left to fortune.
