“Mercy” by Eric Bachmann
Track Review:
In an interesting blend of forgotten doo-waps, layered vocals, and American rock, Eric Bachmann created “Mercy” to address the pain in life. Bachmann said, “I’ve got family, I’ve got friends, and I will love them till the end – despite the bat-shit crazy things they often say.” Reason, Bachmann warns, will not answer the “chaos in the violin.” After all, reason – when analyzed – is justification for one’s actions. Reason, just like the killed idols and fables, does not demand the final word. Humanity can offer “Mercy” to one another despite the unfair workings of reason. The chaos in the violin will carry us forward. Bachmann said reason requires mind tricks while mercy forgives regardless the unreason that follows human action.
