Bay area psychedelic blues rockers Golden Void have just released a delightfully riffy and melodic new single “Dervishing” (which can be listened to below) in order to promote their upcoming second album “Berkana” which will be put out to the public later this year on Thrill Jockey.

“Dervishing” brings forth many bluesy hard rock elements of the late 60’s and early 70’s to the current age with modern production, song writing, light synth elements, etc. It is kind of a love letter to classic rock by keeping it alive, but with a fresh coat of paint. Noisey further elaborates on the song describing it:

From the song’s onset, you feel as though you’re being guided through a scape of rock aspects, from solos that hang and float off into space to riffs that build and sway over and over. Vocals haunt the track just as much, dipping in and out before rescinding and letting the guitars take over. It’s all the best parts of Cream, King Crimson, managing to sound like they belong on a Chet Helms promotion in 60s San Francisco, without getting too corny for comfort.

Indeed, if you are looking for something to help you transcend this plane of existence but also to totally rock out while doing so, this is the track for you.
