After Containing A Thousand and the Mountain Divide EP, Lakker has now finished their debut album Tundra. It is considered the crowning achievement of their decade long musical career. With Tundra they are once again blurring the lines between the organic and the synthesized, virtual and ‘artificial’. This album is really pushing the envelope with field recordings from motorway tunnels in Japan, church bells from Schöneberg, a female choir from Dublin and Inuit throat singers.
There is no limit to where influence was pulled from for this album. In an interview they spoke about how prominent the atmosphere and feeling you get around the ocean, wind and storms was to them and how they wanted to find a way to make the audience feel those emotions. Tundra will be out May 12 on R&S Records.
