Marfa Myths Announces Schedule March 13- 15

Marfa Myths is coming up this weekend (March 13-15th) in Marfa, Texas. Curated by New York based label Mexican Summer and co-presented with Ballroom Marfa, the festival is making its second annual mark as a unique cultural program that bridges music, art and film. Marfa Myths features artists from within and outside the Mexican Summer’s roster whom we are excited to reveal now with the weekend’s schedule.

Featuring the following:

Dev Hynes and Connan Mockasin that will result in a limited edition 12”, a sound bath created by Jefre Cantu-Ledesma.

A semi-permanent outdoor mural by Liz Harris (Grouper), a presentation of Gregg Kowalsky‘s live installation Tape Chants.

A screening of short documentaries and Holy Cow Swami at Crowley Theatre presented by CineMarfa and Anthology Recordings. Furthermore, live programming throughout the weekend will include sets from Iceage, Grouper, Tamaryn, Steve Gunn, Weyes Blood, GABI, Thug Entrancer, Co La, Bitchin Bajas, LBS. and Suicideyear.

6 PM: Sam Falls solo exhibition opening reception

8 PM: Software Recording Co. presents: GABI, Co La, Thug Entrancer


Saturday, March 14

11 AM: Sound Bath with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma @ The Well (119 W. Highland Avenue) – $5 suggested donation

2:30 PM: Tape Chants with Gregg Kowalsky @ Building 98 (705 W. Bonnie Street) – FREE

6 PM (doors): Mexican Summer presents: Iceage, Grouper, Tamaryn, Steve Gunn, Weyes Blood @ the Capri (603 W. San Antonio Street) – $15

11:30 PM: Bitchin Bajas’, Suicideyear, LBS. @ Foodsharkland (1411 W. San Antonio/Hwy 90) – FREE
Sunday, March 15 – Crowley Theater (98 S. Austin Street) – FREE

2 PM: CineMarfa & Anthology Recordings present a specially selected film program and Holy Cow Swami


All Weekend: Liz Harris’ (Grouper) painting will be on view at 201 E. Dallas Street – FREE
