Maximum Balloon feat. Karen O & Tunde Adebimpe – “Let It Grow”

Let It Grow

Indie electro pop artist Maximum Balloon (aka David Sitek) has teamed up with Karen O (from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Tunde Adebimpe (from TV On The Radio) to make a rather smooth melodic, yet rhythmic track titled “Let It Grow” that will be on an upcoming album which will be released on Federal Prism. This is the first new music under the Maximum Balloon name since the 2010 debut album “Maximum Balloon”.

“Let It Grow” has almost a hip-hop feel in terms of the backing rhythm, yet the guitar, synth and well blended rich vocal harmonies bring it back into an indie pop rock atmosphere. Listening to the song gives you almost a soothing cooling sensation that runs gently through your body as the sounds enter your ears. Sitek certainly picked the right people to collaborate with in this track because everyone in some way or another brings something that would not be easily replicated by anyone else. There are no drastic change ups in the song. It stays pretty consistent for the duration of the track. However, that works to the song’s advantage because it helps to maintain the gentle icy cool atmosphere that the song creates for the listener.
