Austin Texas Indie rock group, Shearwater, has given music fans something to be excited about this January with the release of their new record Jet Plane and Oxbow. It’s been very well received by listeners, overall the album has been dubbed the band’s biggest sound and is anticipated as being their career defining album. Being in the industry since ‘99, fans of the band have been anticipating this big break for years, and it seems as though the time of enlightenment has come for the rest of us. Now, the group seems to have come to embrace the full potential of their talents in this original new release.
As always, vocals by Jonathan Meiburg are deep, melodic and resonating. The song lyrics are reminiscent of folklore, ballads filled with romantic and poetic imagery. This album teleports the listener to the wilderness, soaring through mountains on whistling winds, with a warrior beat and inspirational uplifting background vocals. A great album to sooth and inspire that would serve as ambiance for anything from cleaning the house, to beers in the backyard, to painting and art sessions.
