NGHTMRE – “Street”

LA based producer NGHTMRE has just put out a single “Street” from his upcoming debut album “Mad Decent”. “Street” was premiered in Skrillex’s headlining Ultra Music Festival this past March and is now available to stream for free on SoundCloud. “Street” can also be downloaded for free through Toneden or you can choose to support NGHTMRE by buying it from iTunes.

“Street” is a rather hypnotic yet heavy hitting trap track. It makes clever use of softer subtle synth elements to make the harder parts have that much more of an impact when the bass drops. There is also a great deal of dissonance implemented into certain factors that make it feel more futuristic and more tense; as though something insane could happen next but you just don’t know for sure so you’re on the edge of your seat intently. This would not be a bad song to use in a sci-fi movie like Terminator where robots play a substantial role because the first image that comes to my mind in “Street” is a robot factory during mid-shift. However, if imagery is not your vibe then at the very least it is a good track to do some sweet dance moves to.
