“BE FREE. We want to say you can do anything you want because the universe is larger than shit. We sing about space and life in this fluid world. You never know what will happen so be happy and nice to other humans and animals.”
This is the creed of Revolushn, a band that blends the absurdity of a drunken Doors cover band and a really great Devo show. Check out their bizarre funk rock slobber “Dinosaurs.”
“The River,” another track off the album, is a menagerie of blues moaning, heavy drums, and loud, blaring electric guitars. Could easy fit into a 90’s playlist with the sound it’s got.
The Freshman is heavy in the psychadelic but light of the substance the band is capable of bringing. There’s a bar room brawl attitude to the LP, and the nine tracks that made the cut will have psychedelic rock fans coming back for more… but there is a lack in the lyrical substance behind the record.
Hell, it’s fun though.
