Tuxedo is the funk collaboration between Stones Throw vet, Mayer Hawthorne, and Seattle hip-hop producer, Jake One. The two have made 12 track album full of “dance-floor bangers” which is out March 3 on Stones Throw Records. Earlier this month, Tuxedo released their first single “Number One,” a track that pays homage to the Snoop Dogg classic, “Ain’t No Fun.” Tuxedo explain, “We always wondered what the original sample was for “Ain’t No Fun.” Since we couldn’t figure it out, we decided we would make it.” To celebrate the release of their debut album, Tuxedo will play a release party on March 4 at the Regent Theater in downtown Los Angeles, featuring live DJ sets from Dam-Funk and Peanut Butter Wolf.
