Montreal quartet, The Muscadettes, led by twin sisters, Chantal and Kathleen Ambridge, have premiered a new holiday single to warm the hearts of cat lovers everywhere, and send dog lovers to the dance floor – “Christmas Kitty” arrived today via BrooklynVegan – repost via Soundcloud.The Muscadettes’ Chantal and Kathleen originally hail from the perpetually merry, Silicon Valley, but were raised in the defiantly merry ville of Montreal. Influenced by sixties surf music and 90’s grunge, the girls create an energetic rock, balanced out by sugary vocal harmonies only sisters could deliver. The Ambridge sisters, joined by Joe Gagné (Les Breastfeeders) and Thomas Augustin (Malajube) recorded their debut album with Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube) at Montreal’s famed Breakglass Studio, and mixed the record in Los Angeles with Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast/Fidlar).
