Philadelphia based progressive thrash metal band Vektor have just dropped a devastating face melting new single “Ultimate Artificer” (which can be listened to below via YouTube) which will be on the band’s upcoming album “Terminal Redux” that will be out on March 11th, 2016 via Earache Records.
“Ultimate Artificer” wastes no time throwing you into the heat of the action with some intense drums and fret board fireworks. While it is primarily a straight-up thrash song it does have some progressive elements such as softer moments where the guitars are a bit cleaner and sound a bit more foreboding. The vocals are as grating as evil as you would hope they would be. Noisey goes into further detail, saying:
“Ultimate Artificer” is lean and mean, and starts off in a more straightforward thrash vein than one might expect (given the troupe’s reputation for face-shredding guitar acrobatics) but halfway through, Vektor shifts into weird-as-fuck space-prog mode. It rules.
“Ultimate Artificer” is definitely the tune to go to if you’re looking for your daily fill of elaborate speedy guitar solos, thundering drums, and evil vocals that will haunt your dreams.
