Yak – “No”

The world always needs a fresh batch of young snotty punks with a f*** you kind of attitude, right? Well that’s exactly what you get when you listen to Yak, a UK punk trio who just put out a 7″ single simply titled “No” (which can be listened to below via SoundCloud) via Jack White’s label Third Man Records.

It would make sense that Jack White would sign these guys. Their sound definitely fills the void of bluesy raucous over-driven punk music that The White Stripes left when they disbanded in 2011. The tune packs a punch and is non-stop balls to the wall thunder from start to finish. Noisey further describes the track saying:

This snarly, overdriven cut from the band’s latest 7″ “No” takes cues from Jack White’s roster of blues-rock, but bitten into with a gutter-punk fang and a growling British accents.

If you’ve been looking for something that is punk in its purest most unadulterated form, “No” is definitely right up your alley. No poppy or hardcore bull s***. Just three angry young dudes beating the living hell out of their instruments and snarling at you.
