Posted recently from the Associated Press, American rapper 50 Cent was arrested while performing in the Caribbean at St. Kitt’s Music Festival. He paid the fines necessary and was subjected to court before being able to leave the country.
His crime: swearing during his performance.
According to the article:
Under the country’s Small Charges Act, it is a misdemeanor offense to use profane words in any public place in this former British colony of around 40,000 people. Police say an offender could be sent to jail depending on how serious the violation is considered to be.
Apparently this is not the first time this has occurred; over 10 years ago, DMX was charged under similar fines.
