New York – September 29, 2014 – CMJ Music Marathon 2014 is excited to announce additions to this year’s lineup of daytime conference events. Among the many highlights is an afternoon screening of Eric Green’s Beautiful Noise, a documentary about the origins of the shoegaze movement. Immediately following the film, CMJ 2014 panel attendees take part in a live Q&A with Nick Chaplin and Simon Scott, members of the iconic shoegaze band Slowdive.
CMJ 2014 film screenings also include a showing of Metalhead, an Icelandic heavy metal-centric drama that has garnered widespread critical acclaim. The Color Of Noise, a documentary about legendary noise punk label Amphetamine Reptile Records joins the lineup, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director Eric Robel and the label’s founder, Tom Hazelmyer, aka Haze XXL.
This year’s programming also features an interactive audience workshop focused on strategies for YouTube audience development, hosted by expert members of the YouTube staff.
CMJ 2014 speakers and panelists are some of the industry’s foremost writers, thinkers and pioneers, including:
Michael Azerrad, Christopher R. Weingarten, Steve Rifkind, Win Music founder Sean Glass, and Viacom Brands Israel Creative VP Elad Sonego.
