Matt Pond PA To Release The State Of Gold On Doghouse Records

Matt Pond PA is thrilled to announce the release their new album The State Of Gold out in June 30 on the newly relaunched Doghouse Records, the label known for introducing such artists as The Get Up Kids, Hot Water Music and Say Anything. Paste Magazine has premiered a lyric video from the album’s lead track “More No More” which features Laura Burhenn of The Mynabirds and Matt Iwanusa of Caveman in the recording. The video is also available to post and share via YouTube. Paste says, “Matt Pond PA has an impressive catalog for any artist, and while fans may have heard them for the first time on television, in commercials or via word-of-mouth, Pond’s emotional lyrics have won lifetime followers in many.”

It’s hard to pin down all the different sides and stories that make up Matt Pond PA, but that’s part of their charm. They’re one of indie rock’s most unique and prolific bands, with nine full-length albums, ten EPs and innumerable tours as well as features on The O.C. and in a long-running Starbucks holiday commercial. And thanks to a successful Pledge campaign, they couldn’t be more excited to do it all again with their new album, The State Of Gold.

In the ten years since Several Arrows Later, Matt Pond has released three albums and six EPs, toured the country more times than he can count, broken bones and chopped down more trees than you can shake the sticks from said trees at. It is no wonder that this 10 year anniversary calls for a celebratory tour, kicking off in Boston.
