Jack White’s Third Man Records has teamed up with Light in the Attic to change the way kids today remember music. And they’re being taken back in time. The labels have created an album and turntable for children so that they may start a record collection like their parents did. The album titled This Record Belongs To ___________ will be on shelves November 6th.

According to Pitchfork, the album will include songs by Nina Simone, Jerry Garcia, Harry Nilsson, Van Dyke Parks, Donovan, the Pointer Sisters, Vashti Bunyan, the beloved poet Shel Silverstein, comedienne Carole King, and none other than Kermit the Frog. In a press release, the artists threw in a relieving disclaimer:

“You won’t find boy bands, princesses, or purple dinosaurs here.”

The interactive set will spark the creativity of both boys and girls alike with the addition of a children’s storybook as well. Although some would consider records to be a thing of the past, the collection takes advantage of technology by including USB ports and speakers in its portable mini turntable. Additionally, the nostalgic value is bound to excite kids and put a new spin on the ways kids learn about music. The set is available for preorder here.
